Since this manuscript was accepted for publication, another group has confirmed that oocytes from Gpr3-/- mice mature spontaneously, and shown that female Gpr3-/- mice are subfertile (Ledent C, Demeestere I, Blum D, Petermans J, Hämäläinen T, Smits G & Vassert G (2005) Premature ovarian aging in mice deficient for Gpr3. PNAS 102 8922–8926).
