OXYGEN TENSION WITHIN THE RABBIT FALLOPIAN TUBE

LUIGI MASTROIANNI, Jr. and RICHARD JONES

Summary.: A system was devised for measuring the oxygen tension within the lumen of the fallopian tube in the unanaesthetized rabbit. After preliminary readings which revealed a mean intraluminal pO2 of 60 mm Hg, ovulation was induced with i.v. HCG. The oxygen tension remained essentially unchanged at the estimated time of ovulation and in the first 3 days after ovulation.
