Endotoxin-induced interruption of early pregnancy in the rabbit

Summary. Endotoxin derived from Salmonella enteritidis (Boivin) completely interrupted pregnancy in the rabbit when given as a single dose (10 or 20 µg/kg intravenously on Day 4 or Day 8 of pregnancy. Indomethacin (2 or 10 mg/kg) was unable to prevent this effect.
