THE EFFECT OF POST-COITAL UNILATERAL OVARIECTOMY ON EMBRYO SURVIVAL IN THE RABBIT

SUSAN L. LITTLE, N. B. HAYNES and G. E. LAMMING

Summary.: Post-coital ovariectomy in the rabbit did not significantly alter the embryonic survival in the uterine horn ipsilateral to the ovariectomy when compared to the contralateral horn at Day 9 of pregnancy. A highly significant reduction (P<0·01) in total embryonic survival at Day 9 occurred after unilateral ovariectomy 77 to 80 hr post coitum compared with results after the same operation 120 to 126 hr post coitum.
